Highlights: Northern Saw-whet Owl
Keith Bagnall and Wendy King have returned, and they began the fall owl banding last night. On their first night they banded 2 Saw-whets and a Whip-poor will. We've begun seeing signs of a transition in the migration. After a couple of weeks of great warbler activity, thrush, Horned Lark, American Pipit, Lincoln's Sparrow, and Lapland Longspur have become more regular. The first Rusty Blackbirds, and young White-crowned Sparrows of the season were seen yesterday. Tim also had nice diversity at the waterbird count today including; Redhead, Gadwall, Northern Shoveler, and 52 Red-throated Loons.
